Attendance

Regular school attendance at Warder is key to a student's success. When students come to school every day, they build good learning habits, stay on track with lessons, and form strong friendships. Being in class helps them feel connected and confident. Every day of learning matters—when children miss school, they miss important instruction and experiences that help them grow.

Families and schools are partners in helping students succeed. By working together to make attendance a priority, we can ensure every child has the best chance to learn, grow, and reach their full potential.

Reporting an Absence

To report an absence, please call the Warder attendance line at (303) 982-0940. The attendance line is available 24 hours a day. Calls must be from a parent or guardian.
- ½ DAY ABSENCE – AM Student arrives after 9:45 am
- ½ DAY ABSENCE – PM Student is checked out before 1:00 pm
The office (not the classroom teacher) must be notified when a student is absent.
To ensure the safety of students, parents should call the attendance line by 7:30 am if a student will be absent or late.

Excused Absence: 2 or fewer consecutive days

Absences will be excused for:
- Illness, medical appointments, and medical care/emergencies
- Family emergencies and family business.
- Documentation is required to verify an appropriate, excused absence.
- Documentation may consist of receipts, doctor verification, a letter from employer, etc. An excused absence may be deemed unexcused without proper documentation.

Excused Absence : 3 or more days

All absences of 3 or more days must be approved before the days of the absence, and a pre-arranged absence form needs to be completed and turned into the office. An example of extended Excused Absences may include hospitalization or recovery from surgery.
Absences will be excused for:
- Illness and medical care (subject to doctor verification if requested by the principal).
- Family emergencies and family business are subject to verification, if requested.
- Any other absences must be excused through prior arrangement and approval with the school office and with the permission of the principal and parents.
