Voices from the Warder Wildcat Community:

Why do you like Warder? Parent Perspective

My family has appreciated Warder because there is a focus on creating a community of support for my son. The families, staff and administrators have been there for him as an individual, where everyone knows him and looks out for him. Warder supports his learning by providing memorable learning experiences that have made him excited to be at school. He rarely comes home without a story about another student helping him learn something new, a teacher providing him with a new challenge, or an opportunity to be creative and express himself through his interests like social studies, art, band, physical education, science, or even Lego club. The community at Warder has helped my son find out more about his passion, what he is good at, and what it feels like to learn in a supportive environment.

-Paul

Warder isn't just a school-it's a family. Over the years, our children have been guided, encouraged and loved by teachers who see their potential and help them shine. What makes Warder so amazing is the way every student is known, valued and inspired to believe they can do anything.

Why do you like Warder? Student Perspective

I love my supportive teachers, and my favorite class is physical education.

-4th grader

At Warder, everyone belongs. We learn to be kind, brave, and take care of each other.

-3rd grader

At Warder, I feel like I fit in. Everyone is really nice.

-5th grader

Warder is one of the best schools. It has a really good principal. You will have a lot of fun. Recess is the best. There are two playgrounds, and they both have swings! All of the teachers are really nice, and they care about you a lot. If you make a mistake, they don't yell at you. They just help you.

Why do you like Warder? Staff Perspective

I have chosen to teach at Warder for almost two decades for many reasons. Warder is a kid-centered, collaborative school where shared leadership is valued. We have an exceptional PTA, a strong connection to our community, and a welcoming, positive, and safe environment. It's a fun place to learn and grow. —Warder truly is family

-Mrs. Bell, 1st grade teacher

I love working at Warder because the drive everyone shares to make children feel welcome. I am so incredibly proud of our students' willingness to learn and share kindness and respect in the cafeteria. They are learning and bettering themselves every day. I love getting to chat and share excitement with the awesome students.

-Leo, Lead Food Service Worker

The best thing about Warder is it feels like a family. We're a tight-knit community, and we genuinely love what we do. The environment is supportive and welcoming. We have a lot of fun while continuously reflecting on how to best meet the needs of our students.

-Mrs. Lee, 4th grade teacher and parent

I appreciate that every student is valued, respected, and encouraged to challenge themselves at Warder Elementary. I am grateful to be a part of a wonderful team that supports our students' growth, support in navigating challenges, and provides positive opportunities for learning throughout our school community. It truly is a place where all students thrive in a supportive environment.

Why do you like Warder? Parent Perspective

As parents, we can't say enough good things about how the staff at Warder Elementary have supported our family. Navigating the unique educational and behavioral challenges that come with having a neurodivergent child isn't always easy, but they've stood by our kid every step of the way. They actively collaborate with us, value our input, and always prioritize our child's sense of safety and belonging. The staff's intuitive, flexible and genuinely caring approach has made such a difference, not just for our child, but for our whole family as we've worked through some unexpected and tough moments together as a team.

-Heidi

We've had two kids at Warder for the past six years. We have loved how they are interested in school, enjoy going every day, and come home with interesting topics for the dinner table. they have been challenged and prepared for what comes their way. We feel lucky to have them at Warder.
